Fake Post.

4 06 2009

This is not a real Buried Without Ceremony post.
It’s a fake, a ghost in the system, a clam shell filled with dish soap.
If you are wont to disregard such things, please disregard this.

Until late June, I will be unable to post to Buried Without Ceremony.
This is due, almost exclusively, to a lack of energy.

Since September 8th, I’ve been working at a school for children with dyslexia, as a language therapist. Let me break that down slightly: working is draining, schools are draining, children are beautiful-and-precious-snowflake-miracles but also draining, working with dyslexics is draining, language is draining, therapeutic support is draining. I’m drained.

I’m waiting until the school year ends, so that I can begin a fruitful and artistically-driven bout of unemployment. I’m going to write Perfect, read more Dostoevksy and Bulgakov, write more Buried Without Ceremony, continue doing performance poetry, travel, make art, continue gardening, and just be joyous about life. And I’m never going to work this much again in my life.

That said, life right now is also really awesome: I’ve won the Vancouver Poetry Slam two weeks in a row (and am qualified for the Vancouver IWPS playoffs as a result), I’ve started seeing someone amazing, I’ve been lounging in my garden in the glorious sun a lot, I’ve been spending time with roommates, I’ve been coordinating the upcoming release of Ribbon Drive (!!!!). But, intellectual endeavors are hella draining right now and I don’t want to feel drained and obligated on this blog.

So, like, expect a new post in three weeks. Or something.

See you at Go Play NW, hopefully.
And I’ll sell you a copy of Ribbon Drive when I do, hopefully.
Love.

Totally understandable. I’ve sure as hell been there.

I’ve observed that those who are called to do something have a really hard time making a living doing anything else. I think it’s the creative spirit saying, “If you don’t want to use me properly, then fuck you!”

My friend, I will see you at GPNW!
